We named our research group "The eXtreme Computing Research, XCR@LaTech U" to signify that our exploration extends beyond traditional computing research. Our research scope encompasses a research investigation portfolio of complementing elements ranging from dependable and wireless computing (a.k.a. anywhere and anytime peer-to-peer) to distributed computing, service engineering, and intelligent component-based software engineering areas.

The XCR@LaTech Laboratory was established in March 2002 by Dr.
Chokchai (Box) Leangsuksun. It is a research and education
program that is supported and funded by the Center
for Entrepreneurship and Information Technology. It is also
affiliated with the Computer Science program, College of Engineering
and Science, Louisiana Tech University. Our research program
has extended collaborations with established industrial and
governmental lab partners, such as Oakridge National Laboratories;
the department of energy, Xerox Corp, Lucent Technologies, Systran
Federation corp, and a multitude of others.
